Gain Industry Experience

AIPN Model Contracts
AIPN members receive free access to download all AIPN’s model contracts, which are widely accepted and used in the international oil and gas community. AIPN's model contracts are tools for the negotiator that promote and facilitate sound transactions. AIPN model contracts include:  Confidentiality Agreement, Joint Operating Agreement, Accounting Procedure, Consultant Agreement, Farmout Agreement, Gas Sales Agreement, Gas Transportation Agreement, International Dispute Resolution Agreement, Lifting Agreement, Secondment Agreement, Master Service Arrangements, Seismic Acquisition Contract, Well Services Contract, Study and Bid Group Agreement, Unitization and Unit Operating Agreement, and LNG Sales Agreement.

Balanced and cohesive, these documents include specific provisions traditionally desired by parties involved in the particular types of transactions represented by the contracts. They are a starting place for negotiations. Committees develop new model contracts on an ongoing basis, as well as update past contracts.

Model Contract Drafting Committees
Participating on an AIPN model contract drafting committee is a valuable tool to gain industry experience while helping the AIPN to develop a balanced and fair model contract. Committees are open to all AIPN members and are composed of a diverse group of negotiators in many locations around the world. Meetings are held in various locations to encourage participation, and conference calls are used to solicit input from members that cannot attend in person. AIPN members may be part of an unlimited amount of committees; non-members are limited to participating in only one.

Research Paper
The AIPN Research Paper grant, established in 1996, offers an annual U.S.- $10,000 grant to selected qualified authors for preparation of practical thoroughly researched, publishable papers on industry issues of concern to AIPN members. The resulting papers are made available to all AIPN members and become an important and valuable resource.
