Privacy Policy

Introduction
The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (“AIPN”) reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion and without sending notice to you, so you should review this Privacy Policy periodically. The effective date of this notice and any revised or changed notice may be found on this page, on the bottom left hand corner of the notice. Any changes will be effective as of the effective date and will only be effective prospectively.

Privacy; Confidential Information
It is the AIPN's policy is to protect the confidentiality of the individually identifiable information that you provide, and except for general contact information which is made available to its members and for attendance lists provided at conferences and workshops, we limit access to all other information only to those with a need to know. When you transact with us through our sites, by telephone or facsimile, we will need to verify, and in some instances collect, and store your personal information such as Member ID, name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card number and other basic information about you for the primary purpose of completing your transaction, including, but not limited to, sending you transactional communications.

AIPN's policy is to prohibit the unlawful disclosure of your personal information. AIPN will not release your name, except with regards to information generally provided in the AIPN's membership directory and in attendance lists at conferences and workshops, or otherwise publicize the fact that you purchased goods or other information to us unless: (a) you grant AIPN permission to do so; or (b) AIPN is requested or required to do so by law. Mailing List
As a member of the AIPN, you have access to this Site and you will be added to the AIPN?s mailing list, so that you can receive communications regarding events, model contracts and other AIPN announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to webmaster@aipn.org

Computer Information
AIPN logs your current Internet address (this is usually a temporary address assigned by your Internet service provider when you log in), the type of operating system you are using, and the type of browser software used. In addition, AIPN may keep track of what portions of this Site you are visiting. AIPN aggregates this information to help AIPN improve or create a better experience for users of the Site. For example: AIPN may upgrade those parts of the Site that are heavily visited.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of information that a web site sends to your computer, which is stored in a file on your computer's hard drive. A cookie does not tell us your individual identity unless you have chosen to provide it to us. Most cookies expire after a defined period of time.

Personally Identifiable Information
AIPN may disclose personally identifiable information you provide to third parties if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) complete the sales transaction, such as providing your shipping information to our carrier; (b) comply with legal process; (c) respond to claims that any information you provide violates the rights of third parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of AIPN, its users and/or the public. Except as provided in the preceding sentence, AIPN will NOT sell or trade your personally identifiable information with third parties, such as sellers of goods or services.

Security and Encryption
Currently, this site uses a variety of different security measures designed to protect personally identifiable information from unauthorized access by individuals both inside and outside of our organization, including encryption (where appropriate), digital certificates, and Secure Sockets Layer. This is designed to protect your personal information - such as credit card numbers, online forms, and financial data - from loss, misuse, interception and hacking. AIPN uses no encryption (data scrambling) on certain portions of the site. When you are on any web site that asks you for confidential information, you should check to see if the information being transmitted is encrypted in order to increase the security of your information.

We use commercially reasonable efforts to create and maintain “fire walls” and other safeguards designed to ensure that, to the extent we control the personal information, the personal information is used only as authorized by us and consistent with this Privacy Policy, and that the personal information is not improperly altered or destroyed. Our privacy protection practices help us to maintain accurate, timely, complete and relevant information for our business purposes. Our communication system, software and database practices have been designed to aid us in supporting authenticity, integrity and confidentiality. Although we use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain data security when data is transmitted through third party communication service providers, we do not warrant the security of data during such transmission.

Children and Minors
AIPN makes no active effort to collect personal information from children under the age of 18 and does not wish to receive any such information.
