AIPN Presents on Unitization and other Model Contracts in Rio de Janeiro

Houston (May 25, 2009) – The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) is presenting its annual Model Contracts Workshop at the JW Marriott Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 21 to 24, 2009.

The AIPN’s model contracts are widely used and accepted in the international petroleum industry. The AIPN’s renowned workshop is a dynamic and interactive forum in which industry experts present and lead discussions on the latest AIPN model contracts. In recent years, the workshop has been held in the United States, Canada, Italy and Norway. Now for the first time the workshop is being brought to South America.

As the oil and gas industries of Brazil and several other countries are increasingly dealing with the complex process of unitization, the workshop will feature a presentation on the important new AIPN Model Unitization and Unit Operating Agreement.

Other featured presentations will include the AIPN Model International Operating Agreement and Model Service Agreements currently being revised, the new LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement and Gas Transportation Agreements, and the Model Drilling Contract and Model Area of Mutual Interest Agreements currently in development.

The workshop, which is limited to 85 participants, is open to members and non-members of the AIPN.
