HOUSTON, Texas (May 5, 2016) – The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) will host its inaugural AIPN International Petroleum Summit May 9-12 at The Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in The Woodlands with a distinguished line-up of keynote speakers:

James A. Baker, III, 61st United States Secretary of State;
Professor Emmanuel Gaillard, Head of International Arbitration, Shearman & Sterling;
Robert Jordan, former U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; and,
Guhan Subramanian, Professor, Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School.
David Davies, incoming AIPN president based in London, United Kingdom, encourages AIPN members, non-members, guests, and media to join him and other members of the AIPN board of directors at the AIPN International Petroleum Summit. The event will feature pre-conference workshops, keynote sessions, panel discussions, networking sessions, receptions, and dinners.

The AIPN was founded in 1981 to enhance the professionalism of cross-border energy negotiators throughout the world. AIPN is now comprised of more than 4,500 members in more than 110 countries, representing numerous international oil and gas companies, host governments, law firms and academic institutions. AIPN members come from a variety of disciplines: commercial, technical, academic and legal. The association hosts several high-quality events annually that provide networking opportunities and valuable educational programs and tools.

“AIPN members and supporters from every region of the world will be convening in The Woodlands for the AIPN International Petroleum Summit. Those who attend the Summit will benefit in three key ways – by gaining insights and perspectives on current industry challenges and issues from experts with deep knowledge of the global oil and gas industry; by accessing educational and information sessions; and by networking in a productive way that leads to long-term relationships and business transactions,” commented Davies, who will be formally inducted as president of the AIPN board of directors on May 9.
