Boseok Jin

Boseok Jin is an Associate Director in the Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables group, based in Tokyo and South Korea. Mr. Jin focuses on Japan and South Korea’s gas supply and demand as well as gas and power market fundamentals analysis. His professional expertise comes from several years of industrial experiences in LNG/gas and power in Northeast Asia. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Jin was a principal LNG sales and purchase agreement negotiator at the largest independent power producer in South Korea, where he successfully led bilateral negotiations as well as set up procurement and negotiation strategies. He started his career at Samsung Group, where he gained a wide range of fundamental knowledge throughout oil and gas/LNG value chains. Mr. Jin holds a BA (magna cum laude) from Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea, and an MSc from Purdue University, United States. He also studied energy and mineral economics at Curtin Business School, Australia.
