Chris Strong is a partner in Vinson & Elkins’ London Energy Transactions & Projects practice who represents corporate clients around the world on transactions in the energy and natural resources space. Recognized by Chambers in 2020, Chris brings more than 20 years of experience, as well as a deep understanding of his clients’ businesses, to his practice. He advises oil companies, banks, private equity funds, and government entities on the acquisition and disposition of assets, and on project development transactions related to upstream oil and gas, power plants, petrochemical facilities, refineries, pipelines, liquefied natural gas, and mining and metals.

Uisdean Vass is the Scottish co-ordinator for the AIPN and Managing Director at VassPetro Limited, Aberdeen. Uisdean is a prolific author and commentator on MER and has extensive experience in comparative petroleum regimes including the USA, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Offshore Canada and many others. He is qualified to practice in Scotland and Louisiana.

Elias Nucette is currently the Commercial Manager Contracts & Agreements within Shell’s global Commercial & New Business Development division based in London. He has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Elias started his career in Venezuela as a lawyer for Shell, working on a wide range of legal and commercial matters across the oil and gas value chain. After holding the role of Legal Manager for Shell Venezuela, he moved to Shell’s headquarters in The Hague joining the global Commercial & New Business Development division. For almost 15 years, he has participated and led negotiations with National Oil Companies and partners for projects in multiple jurisdictions such as the Middle East, Russia, China and Africa. Prior to his current role as Commercial Manager for Contracts & Agreements was a lead negotiator for Shell’s global exploration new ventures division.
