Europe Chapter Event "Opportunities in Greenland & the New Licensing Policy"

Jørn Skov Nielsen. Jørn Skov is Deputy Minister, Ministry of Industry, Energy, Research and Labour. He has been Deputy Minister in the Government of Greenland for the last 15 years. He is presently the heading the Ministry of Industry, Energy, Research and Labour. Jørn Skov has an extensive experience within the public regulation of oil and gas. Earlier in his career, he was the director of the Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum. In that capacity he negotiated and awarded exploration and exploitation licences to a large number of the major IOC’s of the world. He also headed the permitting, regulation and inspection of the British oil company Cairns offshore drilling campaign in Greenland in 2010 and 2011. The drilling programme proved that drilling offshore West Greenland is very similar to offshore operations in other regions.Jørn Skov holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen.

Gregers Dam, PhD. Gregers is the Chief Consultant, Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. He is an established geoscientist with 33 years of experience. He has worked with World-wide exploration for DONG Energy and Maersk Oil & Gas and research projects for the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. Gregers has held both technical and managerial leadership positions as geologist, project manager, team lead and chief geologist. He is project lead for the ongoing Resource Assessment project for Greenland.

Trine Kristensen, M.Sc. Trine is a Geologist with the Ministry of Industry, Energy, Research and Labour. Her master thesis was on modelling of thermal maturity in the Danish Central Graben. From 2017-2019, she worked with the Danich Geodata Agency and joined the Government of Greenland, Ministry of Industry, Energy, Research and Labour in 2019.
