Join the US Chapter for "Domestic Unconventional vs. International Conventional: Are Economics Causing the Industry to Turn Back to International Projects?" Over the past decade, the shale revolution in the US has changed the landscape of the domestic energy industry. Advancements in technology have made production possible from resources that were previously unavailable, making the US the dominant energy producer in the world.

These investments were made possible by a combination of unique economic conditions which lead to low-interest rates and the abundance of capital available for investment. Capital that was once available for international exploration and production projects became earmarked for domestic unconventional projects, in part due to the perception that international projects carry a measure of political risk that is not mitigated by resource upside.

From an investment standpoint, tight oil opportunities dominated through the downturn. After a few years of reset, we're seeing improvements in the conventional space that make it more competitive with US tight oil. FIDs are reaching new heights just as tight oil is setting production records. Both investment themes will play an important part in the future of the supply story.

This presentation by recognized experts in analyzing and explaining trends in the exploration and production industry will breakdown the most important drivers. Julie Wilson, who has addressed AIPN forums in the past and outlined her assessment of present and future trends in basins around the world, will speak about international projects. R.T. Dukes, who is often quoted in the Wall Street Journal and industry trade journals, will speak about the past and future trends in the US domestic unconventional world.

Please join us for what will prove to be an insightful look into contrasting sides of the current exploration and production industry.
