He specialises in major project acquisition and divestment, join venture structuring, development and financing (particularly for LNG projects) and project gas chain issues (equity lifting).

He is consistently recognised by international industry and professional guides as a leading energy and natural resources practitioner. Stuart was closely involved in advising on the transition of the treaty (between Australia and Timor-Leste) and associated legislation and arrangements in relation to the Timor Gap.
