Rob Butler advises clients on a wide range of projects and transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors, LNG and LNG shipping matters. Mr. Butler's experience includes negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial arrangements including LNG sale and purchase agreements, LNG terminal use agreements, common facilities agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements, crude oil offtake agreements, time charter parties, joint venture agreements, asset sales and purchases, and corporate acquisitions, disposals and financings.

Tom Holmberg is a partner in the Global Projects Group at Baker Botts.  He assists clients with energy projects and transactions around the world. His recent experience has focused on the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and natural gas pipeline projects and transactions. He works with clients at all stages of such projects in areas that include project structuring, contracting, governmental approvals, and the negotiation of commercial agreements and project development documents.

Mr. Holmberg advises clients on an array of regulatory issues, including contract and tariff matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He also represents clients before the Department of Energy (DOE) for authorizations to export and import natural gas under the Natural Gas Act. He has handled administrative and appellate litigation before the FERC and the courts on these matters. He has also represented clients before FERC in electricity market restructuring proceedings.

Torsten Peters (VP Legal M&A and Finance) is in-house counsel with Sasol in Johannesburg/South Africa.Torsten advises primarily on international energy projects, M&A and finance matters. He holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of the Saarland / Germany and an LL.M. from Saint Louis University School of Law 1996 and passed the first and second German State Exam. Torsten serves on the AIPN Africa Chapter Executive Committee.

Shakwa Nyambe is a specialised Energy, Natural Resources and Commercial Lawyer and the Managing Director at the law firm Shakwa Nyambe & Co Inc. He is also specialised in drafting, reviewing and negotiations of contracts. Shakwa Nyambe & Co Inc is an Energy, Natural Resources, Corporate, Commercial and Dispute Resolution law firm with offices in Windhoek, Namibia.

Nyambe previously worked as a Legal Counsel at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia, as a Chief Legal Officer at the Ministry of Justice, Namibia and as a State Advocate at the High Court of Namibia.

He is the current Director for the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN)’s African Chapter. He serves on the drafting committees for the AIPN JOA Committee, LNG, SPA Committee, Asset Sale and Purchase Agreement Committee and the Drilling Contract Committee. Nyambe previously served as the Alternate Director AIPN’s African Chapter and while on that role actively assisted and organised AIPN Africa Chapter events such as; Africa Chapter Networking Reception Event, Swakopmund, Namibia (April 25, 2019), Africa Chapter 2019 Welcome Reception, Luanda, Angola (February 28, 2019) and the 2019 Gas Course: From PSC to LNG, Johannesburg, South Africa (July 9, 2019 to July 10, 2019).

Nyambe holds a Baccalaureus Juris degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree, both from the University of Namibia. In addition he also holds a postgraduate degree of Master of Laws in Oil & Gas Law with Professional Skills (LLM) from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts from the University of Johannesburg. He is an admitted legal practitioner of the High Court and Supreme Court of Namibia.
