Organized by the Europe Chapter, this webinar will discuss the latest plans for development of Carbon Capture and Storage sites in the Netherlands compared to what is taking place across the North Sea in the United Kingdom. 

It will open with a general introduction by Iain Fergusson, Oil & Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), about what some leading energy firms are contributing towards the ambitions of the Paris Agreement, followed by insights into the Port of Rotterdam CO₂ Transport Hub and Offshore Storage (Porthos) project by Tim Bertels, Darel Group, and Robert Zwakenberg, Porthos. Tim will focus on the opportunities, regulatory environment and financial/commercial drivers for large scale CCS implementations whereas Robert will focus on players, contract types and typical distribution of risks and liabilities along the CCS value chain. Phil Hemmens, ENI, will conclude by giving an overview of the company’s CCS project portfolio in the United Kingdom, its experience with commercial maturation, and the latest status and business model options. Presentations will be followed by a panel debate and Q&A. 

This webinar marks the revival of AIPN activities in the Netherlands, with additional events planned for the future.
