Summer Assistantship Program

As part of its student outreach initiatives, the association funds a summer assistantship program that benefits students by allowing them to have academically rewarding summer employment, as well as Educational Advisor Board members by addressing their needs for research assistance. Each year, AIEN funds one, eight-to-ten week assistant position to support an EAB member in their research project.

EAB members are invited to fill out the application explaining the research topic, and identifying the student candidate from their oil and gas related classes who they feel would be the best candidate for the program.

In order to apply, EAB Members should complete the application form for the 2020 Summer Assistantship Program by April 27, 2022 and submit a short letter explaining the nature and significance of the proposed research project, as well as the reasons the EAB Member selected the student candidate for the research assistant position.

Students who are interested in participating in the Student Assistantship Program should contact their EAB Professor directly.

The winner will be announced on or around May 4, 2022 and will receive $5,000 for the position, divided into two payments at the start and finish of the program.
